i-ContentStudio
helps unleash the power of Tablet PCs within classrooms
Inspherion Learning Corporation announces the launch of i-ContentStudio, a suite of pen-perfect authoring tools that enhances and extends traditional learning content and activities. Closely modeling real-world learning materials, i-ContentStudio helps create engaging content including: self-graded math worksheets, self-assessing graphical labeling exercises (map and science diagrams), re-playable geometry constructions, multi-media flashcards, vocabulary lists, and matching exercises. i-ContentStudio leverages the handwriting and audio capabilities of the Tablet PC to give K-12 teachers and publishers an easy and inexpensive way to create customized interactive learning content. Creating custom interactive content has traditionally posed several major challenges. Not only does the creation of digital content require extensive resources, but it often also forces teachers and students to alter proven instructional methodologies that work. Moreover, customizing digital content to suit the learning needs of small groups of students can be cumbersome. i-ContentStudio addresses these challenges by simplifying the interface and adding automatic assessment properties to digital content. Also, i-ContentStudio captures students’ intermediate problem solving steps for a greater insight into student understanding during the formative-assessment cycle. The result: technology that empowers teachers to keep students engaged without requiring them to become software developers. i-ContentStudio capitalizes on Microsoft .NET Framework and the tablet-based digital ink technology to create a learning environment that preserves the intuitive nature of traditional learning methods, including the ability to use the pen, eraser, ruler and compass to interact with content. By making immediate feedback possible, i-ContentStudio helps shorten the learning cycle and creates more time for practice and reinforcement. “What struck me most about Inspherion’s technology was the leap in simplifying the interface and the careful analysis of instructional methods to integrate technology into the classroom,” said Liza Lee, an industry expert and ex-NAIS school head. “This seems to me to be one of the most exciting uses of technology in schools to come along in years.” “Inspherion Learning has provided us with the perfect platform to easily and affordably convert our existing paper and video based vocabulary program into a digital format,” said Hyla Swesnik, CEO of Vocabulary Enterprises, L.C. and creator of What’s the Word?® “We can provide our students with a high quality, interactive learning experience while protecting our copyrights.” “Despite increased investment in computers, schools are still far from realizing the true benefits of technology,” said Ramesh Balan, CEO of Inspherion Learning Corporation. “Inspherion Learning is committed to giving educators access to affordable and easy-to-use software technology that allows them to get the results they need in the classroom. Teachers can now focus on what’s most important – the educational and learning needs of their students.” Inspherion Learning products and solutions are currently being piloted by schools across the country. A limited release of Version 1.0 is currently available for trial and implementation.
